Barcelona striker Asisat Oshoala is on the verge of making a surprising move to Women’s Super League team Manchester United.

Oshoala was strongly linked with Manchester United in the summer of 2021, but Barcelona successfully convinced her to extend her contract with them.

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United is looking to strengthen their attacking lineup by signing the former Arsenal and Liverpool striker this January.

Originally, the Red Devils had hoped to secure the services of Brazil international Kerolin Nicoli, but a recent injury has prompted a change in plans, leading them to consider Oshoala instead.

Manchester United currently trails behind Chelsea in the Women’s Super League standings. The potential addition of Oshoala could improve their chances of narrowing the gap between them and the top spot.

Oshoala joined Barcelona in 2019 and has featured in 108 games in the Primera División Femenina. During her time with the Spanish club, she has scored an impressive 92 goals.

Transfer Update: Man United Considering Player-Plus-Cash Deal for Michael Olise

Man United, Transfer News, Michael Olise, Crystal Palace, January Transfer Window, Player Exchange, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Football Rumors, Old Trafford, Summer Transfer Strategy

Manchester United is exploring the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal to secure the services of Crystal Palace's Michael Olise during the current January transfer window.

Rumors have linked Olise with a potential move to Man United, and according to reports from Daily Star, the Red Devils are considering including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a former Crystal Palace player, as part of the deal for Olise.

In an effort to avoid paying Olise's full release clause, Manchester United is contemplating a strategic exchange by offering a player in part exchange. The club is expected to have a relatively subdued January window, focusing primarily on outgoing transfers.

The Red Devils aim to conclude deals that align with their transfer strategy before Sir Jim Ratcliffe's new recruitment team assumes control of transfers at Old Trafford in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Chelsea Football Club Signs Santos Winger Angelo Gabriel for €15 Million and Loans Him to Strasbourg

Chelsea Football Club has successfully secured the services of Santos winger Angelo Gabriel for a fee of €15 million (£12.95m, $16.38m). The talented Brazilian is expected to sign a five-year contract, pledging his future to the club until 2028.

However, Chelsea intends to further develop the 18-year-old by sending him on loan to Strasbourg, a Ligue 1 side recently acquired by Chelsea's owners.

Angelo Gabriel's transfer is a significant deal, considering that his previous contract with Santos contained a release clause valued at €60 million. However, the clubs have reached an agreement for his sale at the reduced price of €15 million.

Despite Barcelona holding preferential rights to match any offer for Angelo Gabriel since 2022, they are unlikely to make a bid for the player, opening the way for Chelsea to secure his services.

Angelo Gabriel has already showcased his abilities on the field, having made 129 appearances for Santos since his debut in 2020, during which he scored five goals. Additionally, he has represented Brazil at the under-20 level, further highlighting his potential.

If the transfer is completed, Angelo Gabriel will become Chelsea's second acquisition from Brazilian football this year, following the signing of midfielder Andrey Santos from Vasco de Gama in January. However, Andrey Santos faced complications obtaining a work permit, which resulted in him rejoining Vasco de Gama on loan in March ahead of the 2023 Brazilian Serie A season.

As for Strasbourg, they finished 15th in the previous season's Ligue 1 and have been competing in the French top flight since their promotion in 2017. The loan move to Strasbourg will offer Angelo Gabriel an opportunity to gain valuable experience and continue his development.

In addition to Angelo Gabriel, Chelsea is also nearing the completion of a deal for Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson. The club has already confirmed the arrival of Christopher Nkunku, while notable departures during this transfer window include Edouard Mendy, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, and N'Golo Kante.
