EPL: They'd be so scary - Burley picks Super Eagles striker to accomplice Nkunku in Chelsea assault
Chelsea legend, Craig Burley has asked the club to sign Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen to partner Christopher Nkunku in Blues’ attack.
He believes that Napoli’s Osimhen and RB Leipzig’s Nkunku will cause a lot of scare on Premier League defences.
The 25-year-old Nkunku is reportedly on his way to west London next summer and is only awaiting official confirmation from the club.
Chelsea still want to strengthen their forward line by targeting Napoli centre-forward Osimhen.
90min reported last month that Osimhen was top of Graham Potter’s wish list for the No.9 position.
Burley told ESPN he loves the idea of an Osimhen-Nkunku strike partnership at Stamford Bridge next season.
“I think him (Nkunku) and Osimhen would scare the living daylights out of people… can you imagine,” Burley said.
“I don’t know if he would leave Napoli, but you’re not getting him until the summer at the earliest.” Dailypost

Nigeria vs Ghana: Super Eagles told two things to do during clash with Black Stars
A former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu, has urged the Nigerian national team to ‘fight and be resilient when they face the Black Stars of Ghana in a 2022 FIFA World Cup double-leg playoff.
Nigeria and Ghana will clash on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi and the return leg will take place on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
The winner of both legs will pick one of the tickets to represent Africa at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Speaking to NAN in Enugu on Wednesday, Chukwu said: “Our players should fight for it and be resilient because playing at the World Cup remains the most important dream and prayer of any outstanding footballer.
“The World Cup is the showpiece and zenith of football.
“It has great potential of selling both the individual player and his country of origin to the rest of the world.”

LaLiga: Real Madrid to sign Super Eagles striker instead of Haaland
LaLiga giants, Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish newspaper claims Los Blancos have identified the Super Eagles striker as a possible option to Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
Real will make Osimhen their top priority if they can’t sign Haaland this coming summer.
Osimhen has been in impressive form this current campaign, scoring 11 goals in 22 matches for the Serie A side, despite missing almost two months of action after a cheekbone injury last November.
Napoli have reportedly put an 80 million euros price tag on one of his most outstanding players.
Two Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester are also interested in Osimhen. Dailypost

Super eagles captain, Ahmed Musa reacts after finally getting 100th Super Eagles cap
Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has spoken of his pride at making his 100th appearance.
Musa achieved the milestone during Nigeria’s 2-0 win over the Central African Republic on Sunday.
The 28-year-old becomes only the third centurion in the senior national team, one short of Joseph Yobo and Vincent Enyeama, who both made 101 appearances each.
Musa thought he had reached the 100th mark against Cape Verde in September.
However, FIFA said his appearances against Togo in June 2017 and Algeria in November 2017 did not count.
According to FIFA, the friendly against the Hawks was not recognised by the world football governing body, while the World Cup qualifier against the Desert Foxes was cancelled as Nigeria fielded an ineligible player.
After today’s game against CAR, Musa posted on Instagram: “Wow! What can I say? I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the support of my family, teammates, officials, and my fans.
“To crown it all, important three points in our game. Thank you so much, I don’t take any of this for granted. We will continue to make history and secure wins.” Dailypost

Super Eagles pass COVID-19 tests again, seek redemption against Tunisia
The Super Eagles will battle Tunisia on Tuesday (today), after players and officials of the national team tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday.
The match, billed for the Jacques Lemans Arena in the Austrian city of St. Veit an der Glan, will start at 7:30pm Nigerian time.
The Eagles had also undergone the COVID-19 tests on Thursday, before their 1-0 loss to Algeria in Klagenfurt, Austria.
The three-time African champions will be hoping to bounce back against the Tunisians after Friday’s defeat.
The Nigerians defeated Tunisia 1-0 to clinch bronze at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations – after losing to Algeria in the semi-final, and are unbeaten in their last five matches against the Carthage Eagles – two wins and three draws – with their last defeat 16 years ago after a penalty shootout in the semi-final of the 2004 AFCON in Rades, Tunisia.
But ahead of this tie, the Tunisians are in high spirits after a resounding 3-0 victory over Sudan in another friendly on Friday.
Coach Gernot Rohr hinted there would be changes in the squad after Friday’s defeat.
“We definitely must put up a greater effort against the Tunisians. It is an opportunity for some of the players to rise up to the occasion, stake a claim. They are ready to go and I believe we would see a much better game on Tuesday,” Rohr was quoted as saying in a statement by the Nigeria Football Federation on Monday.
While the team will still miss the services of Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo who pulled out due to various reasons, Rohr has the luxury of testing new players for the game.
Striker Cyriel Dessers and goalkeeper Matthew Yakubu will both hope to win their first international caps, while Kenneth Omerue, Ola Aina, Jamilu Collins and Chidera Ejuke will all be hoping to be in action after missing the Algeria tie. Punch

Super Eagles coach Rohr says he has received a new contract from the NFF
The Franco-German is however set to continue in his position after confirming that he has received a new offer from the NFF.
“I already discussed with the president about my future since I am at the end of the contract. The contract will end on June 30,” Rohr told Girondis4ever.com.
It is however not known if Rohr will agree to the terms in the offer after NFF boss Amaju Pinnick said new stipulations will be added to the coach’s new contract.
According to Pinnick, Rohr’s new contract will state that he must reside in Nigeria, develop players from the local leagues and earn in Naira.
The coach has led Nigeria to two tournaments, the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where the Super Eagles crashed out in the group stage and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (NFF) where they finished third. Pulseng

Super Eagles beat Guinea 1-0, through to 2019 AFCON second round
The Group B game decided at Alexandria Stadium in Alexandria ended with an unreplied goal netted in the 73rd minute by predatory central defender Kenneth Omeruo, who rose high to nod home a right flank corner kick by striker Moses Simon.
The victory ensured that the Super Eagles, who got their campaign up and running with a hard fought 1-0 win over tournament debutants Burundi last weekend, have amassed the maximum six points from two matches.
The Guineans, who have so far under-performed, must now defeat Burundi in their last group game to entertain any hopes of progressing in the competition.
